2011 in Review: What Was Good and How’d I Do

Holy shit did I just unintentionally rhyme that title? Yeah, I’m the champ. Anyway, 2011 is over, and while I watched a few shows, I pretty much failed miserably at anime and manga (more so with anime and I’ll get to that later), but I did watch some shows. Let’s take a look at my New Year’s Resolutions from 2011, and see how I did (fresh off my 500K BANGOUT I might add):

What I Wanted To Get Done

1. I wanted to start and complete the following anime:

  • Birdy the Mighty Decode
  • Gungrave
  • Soul Eater
  • Darker Than Black
  • Tsubasa Chronicle
  • Kannagi
  • Eureka 7
  • Ranma 1/2
  • All Tenchi Muyo
2. I wanted to watch every single show that Rie Kugimiya has been in.

3. Continue doing P90X in order to get the perfect body that I should have because I’m perfect in every other way.

4. Get a job? Idk I had a job already. I guess I wanted a higher paying job or something.

What I Actually Managed To Do

Birdy the Mighty Decode was a good anime that I enjoyed a lot.

And that’s all I accomplished.

So that means that almost all of these resolutions will be pushed over to JOIN the resolutions that I am making for 2012. God damn it son!

Now for the best of 2011, starting with anime, and ending with Eye Sedso ISSS Awards (The ESIAs)

Top…idk…..5ive Anime of the Year!

5. Hanasaku Iroha

The fact that HanaIro is making my list is a testament to the small amount of anime I’ve watched this year. I’m honestly still backlogged to spring. That being said, HanaIro did make my list, and that’s because it was a very good anime. I was able to breeze through HanaIro without feeling bored. The characters and drama was well done and engaging, and of course the art and animation was fantastic.

4. Puella Magi Madoka Magica

A lot of people have PMMM as their number one, and while it’s style and dark plot in an otherwise happy, feel-good genre  were exceptionally done, I can’t put it higher than 4. It was amazing no doubt. I’ll usually consider anything that breaks the mold to be awesome, especially if a show is dark and tragic. I like that shit.

3. Fate/Zero

Okay this isn’t actually finished yet (on hold till April wtf!?!?) but I feel like it’s already got to be mentioned with the top anime of 2011. It’s the best thing to come along in a LONG time, and ufotable has proven to me once again to kick ass and deliver awesome, high quality shows. Saber is hot.

2. Steins;Gate

I loved Choas;HEAD (I’m pretty much alone there), and I was already pumped for Steins;Gate. Then I watched it and was subsequently blown off my ass by it’s shear awesomeness. Time Travel? Check. BAM moments? Check. A BATSHIT CRAZY MAIN MALE LEAD THE LIKES OF WHICH HAS NEVER BEEN SEEN BEFORE AND WILL PROBABLY NEVER BE SEEN AGAIN!? FUCKING CHECK TIMES 9!

God this anime was great.

1. Nichijou

Favorite Character In The Show

One of the funniest fucking shows I’ve ever seen in anime. Up there with Gintama and Azazel-san. I LOVED Nichijou almost as much as flomu. I still haven’t released my review on it, which I will someday do (there’s a lot of drafts of half started reviews that I never finished). It had the EXACT comedy my body desires, and if there isn’t a second season at least 700 episodes in length, I will be upset (I’ll actually take any length). Best Anime of 2011 NO CONTEST.

Now for the fun stuff, talking about my God damn ISSS. First things first:

Bad news here, not only have my hits gone down a SHITLOAD to about 400 per day, but my top search is no longer CUNT. On the plus side, there’s a lot of boobs and sex as searches. Thank God. I do NOT understand the top search result though.

790 posts in about 3 years. SUCK IT. Also closing in on 10K Comments which is cool, but low considering the post output.

Funniest Commenter – Mushyrulez

Puns are a sure fire way to win this. Relentless puns.

Most Frequent Commenter – kluxorious

No real contest here. Others have been more frequent of late, but klux is consistently by my side here. What a great wife.

Best Stalker – reinaq

Still got love for the OG of stalkers: notouchi

Best Gravatar – Canne

Kill Bill is the best movie of all time. So a gravatar will Kill Bill + Anime will pretty much win every time. Good luck beating it.

It speaks volumes when you read every single entry on Eye Sedso in one sitting. Still, I’ve got love for

Up & Coming – Sei

The image is so tiny. Oh well. Despite the fucking dyspraxia and dyscalculia, Sei still manages to comment in torrents of late. Smashing the shit out of everyone else. So to all of you slackers….STEP YO GAME UP!!!

And so, another year ends. It was a year filled with milestones and other shit. I can’t wait to have 2048329 classes next semester and lose even more time to watch anime. BLECH.

Have a Happy New Year guys! I’m about to get ready, go get fucked up at a seriously high class New Year’s Event (open bar and dinner but not really high class), and go DANCE MY FUCKING ASS OFF!!!!!!!!!!!

Hopefully I get some tonight.

  1. Yo horny baby wanna webcam with me? You know you want it, just tell me yes and rock my world. I’m super wet right now and I wanna fuck you. Maybe after that I could sell you some V1agrA cheap nd you can use it to rock my world in person. Tell me you want me baby, I wnt to ride your cock.

  2. Don’t you DARE conflate Nichijou and Gintama! You Nichijou lovers can have all the Azumanga Daioh, comparisons you want (And Azumanga is easily one of my top 3 comedies) but Nichijou and Gintama should never be mentioned together in the same sentence again. There will never be a greater comedy anime than Gintama and I will never have a more favorite anime. Repent for blaspheming against Sorachi!

  3. You should have made the category ‘most obnoxious commentor’ and stuck me in it. Or most mysteriest, as i still have my alter egos. No one is quite who they seem.

  4. I have finally caught up after my computer was combusted by my weight in a most horrific manner. I cried tears of joy when I saw my name in this post. You can rest assured that I shall now stalk you most openly; a true stalker shows no fear. Wuv you!

  5. Now I”m hanging my head in shame for stand mostly in the dark, desolated corner of the blogsphere for a few months and did not comment here as much as before. Yet you still mention me in a big way.

Lesson of the day: choosing the right gravatar gives you immortality!

  6. yes. you’r alone on the Chaos;Head part. BTW the next anime im waiting is ‘Robotics;Notes’ sound familiar? scheduled for October.
