Top Ten Anime

Subject to change whenever, for any reason. For example, as of Nov. 20, 2009, I moved Samurai Champloo into 3rd, After I had previously taken it off the top ten for about 2 months. Pretty much any show on this page could be anywhere, and the entire purpose of even having a top ten is defeated and irrelevant.

1.Inuyasha/The Final Act
2. Welcome to the N.H.K.

3. Avatar: The Last Airbender
4. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
5. Baccano!

6. Samurai Champloo
7. Deathnote
8. Black Lagoon
9. Shakugan no Shana

10. Hisgurashi no Naku Koro ni

  1. Full Metal Alchemist and Elfen Lied are very good anime shows, but I don’t think they’re in my top l0. Death Note started off good, but I got distracted away from the series, so now I have to start from episode 1 again. I definitely agree with you on number 1, Inuyasha rocks!

    • I believe that FMA will be completely replaced with the new FMA series….whenever that ends…..Why the fuck is Elfen Lied still in my top ten? I must have forgot to edit that, because I took it off a while ago…

There is one spot in Deathnote it kind of gets a little boring, but then a GIGANTIC BAM EXPLODES AND MAKES YOU PUMP YOU FIST AND EXCLAIM, “HOLY FUCKING SHIT!” No one seems to give Deathnote it’s props….ok now I need to update this top ten.

      Oh yea….INUYASHA RULES!

      • Inuyasha? I kinda got sick of the whole I’m a damsel in distress, please save me Inuyasha!! Noo, don’t leave me for Kikyo idea (I dropped the anime after 40-something eposides ~ maybe it has something to do with me hating weak females; although i’m ashamed to admit i’m quite weak myself). Even if I got sick of the anime, I have to give the plot some props; the idea of time-travel due to misfortunate (or fortunate, you could say) events like falling in a well…epic. It helps that there are plenty of badass youkai like Sesshomaru there too. 😀

I’m still guilty of reading some fanfiction of Inuyasha, nevermind me dropping it. Have you watched Skipbeat glothelegend? or HunterxHunter?

P.S : I can understand why you would like Inuyasha, so don’t bash me like you did to rose_darkangel. (I think i’m slightly scared of you) loool.

      • There was a specific reason for bashing rose_darkangel. She was a dumb bitch. You don’t seem to be one though.

The anime for Inuyasha had a lot of fillers that would maybe make it boring to some people, but not to me, because I fucking loved that show.

The manga is a lot smoother in terms of plot development, and Kagome actually does get less…..well…..okay she kind of always sucks.

I could easily spoil this for you but I won’t even though I want to.

I haven’t seen any of those shows though, I’m assuming that they don’t suck?

    • Glad I don’t fall under the dumb bitch catagory 😛 Judging from her actual comment, i’d say she was a child (lol. A highschooler calling someone else a child, i feel awesome, but then again, she could be 12 like you said, it would be worrying if she was older then me though).

I might try the manga of Inuyasha actually. Yeah, HunterxHunter and Skipbeat are awesome.
I’d recommend them if you have too much spare time at hand.

Skipbeat is one of a kind if you ask me, even if you watch it the fourth or fifth time, it’d still crack you up. Maybe i’m just a crackpot tho.

I don’t know how to use this site properly, i don’t even know if i’m replying back properly. Excuse my ignorance.

      • She was definitely a child. Clearly not versed in the ways of the world, which are: Don’t talk smack to me.

Try the manga because Eye Sedso.

I’ll probably check them out if I can, which will probably be after I check out the other 049394 shows I’ve promised people I’d watch. Where I’m going to find time, I’m not so sure.

The replies are done right…..honestly, it’s not hard to figure out, so if you couldn’t do it right then I’d probably make fun of you. Lucky for you, you’re still not a dumb bitch. Congrats!

      • Nope. I’ve figured it out, not gonna give you the chance, sorry.

In response to “you’re still not a dumb bitch. Congrats!”, I probably was when I was like 5 or 6, I’d reckon I was annoying to top it off, but what little feminine bitchiness I owned was beaten out of me by my brothers. (well,I used to fight back so I guess its all good now)

They call it tough love, I call it Bullying. -_-

    satou tatsuhiro..

cool i love this anime too ^_^ I guess you really love psychological anime 😀

  7. I could rip your head off coz some of your top10. how could in any world be Death Note superior to Code Geass? and i mean code geass not even made to top10? i mean code geass is almost by any means the “evolution” of death note, lelouch is like light reborn and beter, code geass could be tittled “death note reloaded” and should deserve to be abobe it. so may i ask why?

    • I haven’t updated this in about a year. Looking back, I’d say you’re right, Hayate no Gotoku probably doesn’t deserve a top spot. I should replace it with Detroit Metal City. Thank God you brought this to light.

Deathnote is way better than Code Geass, because the whole theme revolves around death, murder, and death, all of things that I find awesome. Sure, Geass was completely awesome in every aspect, and deserves a top spot, but there are only so many places. Pretty much everything listed above can be moved around in any order, I don’t really like one more than another by that much of a difference.

  8. i suppose your endline: “How about you?” its meant for us to show our own top10. well i have in fact a huge list divided in 3 groups. A B C prety neat. just included the A list. and I know wat you meant by “they are not really in order in that top10” for me its also easier to just group them on a superior category. even in that case i have some plus to show outstanding awesomes even in they own “top tier”.

    A++ Neon Genesis Evangelion
A+ Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion
A+ Elfen Lied A+ Full Metal Alchemist Shintetsu
A The melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
A Higurashi no naku koro ni
    A Full metal Alchemist
    A Ghost in the shell
    A Death Note
    A Monster
    A Samurai X
A Umineko no Naku Koro ni

opinions, critics, discusion, no insults without humoristic twist so well made that its no longer an insult ;).

    • Having 3 sets of top ten lists is actually a pretty awesome idea (if that’s what you’re doing).

That’s a good top twelve list right there. I’ve still not seen Samurai X (that’s the OVA to Rurouni Kenshi, right? I’ve heard it’s completely fucking awesome). But I’m pretty sure I’ve given everything on that list the highest grade possible, which I don’t just hand out like candy at Halloween. A show has to really earn a top spot from me. Fuck I’m hungry as shit. I need to eat, lest I waste away.

      • the 3 sets-list are used to divide every single anime i have seen fully, (main series, not including ovas, spin off, mangas or aditional media); for example i have seen 26 cappters of Hayate no gotoku, but is not listed anywere since it have 1 season i havent seen yet, (still i think it will make to the C list or the B if the second season is very good). Is not the the exactly what you said “3 set of top10” my A list is my top list (see the little A left of each anime?), then comes my B list in awesomeness, then finally the C list. A > B > C.

Samurai X is the Rurouni Kenshi main series, yes i have been told the ovas are prety cool (in particular the set of tokugawa era ovas). is just that it aired in my country by the Samurai X tittle, it is remembered by most of my gereration alongside Dragon Ball Z wich aired about the same time.

      • I remember that I liked Rurouni Kenshin, but it had a bit too many fillers toward the end. It just got kinda boring, in the same way that Ranma 1/2 got boring after 10000 episodes. Still an awesome show, and one of the great anime of my youth.

Hayate no Gotoku is awesome. You’ll find that I’ll like pretty much any anime that features Rie Kugimiya in a lead role.

      • Nope, no mecha. It is sci-fi / space opera, so I guess if you don’t like that sort of thing then you may not like LOGH. However, the focus isn’t so much on the sci-fi as it is on the character interactions.

I notice you have Death Note in seventh. I’ve heard Death Note (and I did enjoy it) called LOGH for kids, if that goes anywhere towards persuading you to watch the show.

    • ULTRA GEEK RAGE!

      AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

No, but seriously, even if you think you don’t have time to watch it, I recommend at least checking out the first 1-3 episodes. That’s an hour of your time max, and then at least you’ll have a good idea of what you’re missing and whether or not you like the show.

    • Avatar wasn’t an animation?

It’s close enough, and it’s better than almost every anime I’ve seen so it goes up there. Plus people need to see it an realize that it’s better than fucking everything they’ve seen.

  10. still….”avatar” had its moment, but if one really had to categorize it, what’d it be? Anime or animation?

  11. InuYasha is my BABY. Found it when I was just 11 years old, spent three years saving up 25 dollars every chance I got to buy a brand new DVD. I have re-watched it so many times and it was even what got me to start taking archery and learn Japanese in school. I think the only thing that I have ever hated was how Kagome says InuYasha’s name constantly. Like, so many times. I don’t even. luv 4 lyf.

  12. I’m fairly late to discover your blog, but I just thought I’d say I appreciate your taste in anime and although I don’t completely agree with all of your opinions, I respect them. ( I read your top 10 worst characters blog )

Inuyasha is my FAVORITE, Rumiko is a truly amazing story writer and artist. I truly believe Ranma 1/2 could have easily made it on your top 10 if Happosai never existed.

  13. I don’t just like Inuyasha, I love it. I’ve re-watched the entire series and all of the movies twice; I often fight the urge to do it over again, which would prevent me from moving forward and accomplishing other anime.

If you ask me the site is fine for a WordPress, and I can read everything “loud and clear” ( I like white text over dark ). Well, there’s always room for improvement, and apologies for referring to your ISSS as a blog ( if you care anymore ). I found it rather easy to peruse the site and find different articles, most of which I enjoyed. Yours is a type of bias that actually makes me smile a bit and nod in agreement, even from posts years ago.

Also, if you haven’t already, I suggest you be a god damn man and finish Ranma 1/2. I hate Happosai too but I grit my teeth and made it through every episode. The OVAs are actually pretty good too, I watched them regardless of some bad reviews and wasn’t very disappointed, especially since there were hardly any signs of Happosai anywhere. ( I do warn you though, OVA 4 and 11 have the little perv in them. They were still rather interesting, especially since he wasn’t up to his same stupid tricks and the entire episode doesn’t revolve around him. )

In a way I tried to pretend Happosai was sort of like Shippo, some midget that appears out of nowhere and plays tricks on everyone. ( It’s definitely not the same at all, Happosai is just a little annoying panty stealing pervert that pisses everyone off. At least the other characters hate him too. )

So yeah. Late at night, tired and bored I decided to come hang out on your site and talk about anime, because people on my site don’t talk about it enough.
